When the 'old bat' is people who are old enough to be our grandparents, but act like they are still teenagers, this saying is said when we want to confront them about the damage they have caused (to us). Then, we promise ourselves that we will strangle them for meddling in affairs that are none of their business and kidnapping a goddamn innocent fairy. This saying is a saying because it means that you should not beat up on an old person for doing something wrong, because they will only keep doing it again and again if you keep beating them up.
